Montepulciano is famous for its delicious wine Nobile. You will start the tour together with your tour assistant from Rome. Immersed in the green of the Tuscan hills between Val di Chiana and Val d’Orcia, Montepulciano is the perfect destination for a visit of a few hours between history, art, nature, wine and cellars.
A splendid medieval village of Etruscan origins, a unique village with elegant Renaissance palaces, ancient churches, splendid squares and small hidden corners. Montepulciano has recently become a very popular tourist destination with a significant increase in visitors, following the shooting of the famous film New Moon, a sequel to the Twilight vampire saga.
Just finished the visit of Montepulciano village you’ll have a light lunch in the beautiful town of Pienza, a small village in southern Tuscany. After lunch, the tour continues visiting Pienza with a tour guide (1,30 hours): a complex of beautiful and harmonious palaces with its Cathedral, the papal residence or Palazzo Piccolomini, the Municipality, and the enchanting central square.
The impression you get while walking through the narrow streets of Pienza is that of a harmonious and proportionate whole; a set of works of art and buildings, as if you were admiring a Renaissance city portrayed in a beautiful painting. The guided tour ends with a tasting of the typical Tuscan biscuits “Cantucci”.
In Pienza you will also have time for shopping.
At the end of the tour you’ll return to Rome.
